Use and applications
Due to advanced channel geometry and counter current arrangement of channels, the plate heat exchangers allow for an optimal heat exchanging process with minimal differences in temperature in the heat exchanging media. Constructive design possibilities allow for cost-effective use in the areas of cooling, evaporation and condensation. The plate heat exchangers are produced and tested in accordance with the PED. Upon request, they may be tested by other classification authorities. The plate heat exchangers may also be delivered with easily installable heat insulation if the customer wishes.
Series with brazed plate package
The gasket less compact heat exchanger combines the high efficiency of a conventional sealed plate heat exchanger with the high temperature and pressure resistance of welded models. Plates of acid-resistant high-grade steel are fixed together by a vacuum brazing process. Copper or nickel are used for soldering. Standard models consist of from 10 to 200 plates. The variation in design (number of plates, style and forming angle) make it possible to optimize the performance of the equipment for the requirements of the user. Operating temperature from -160°C up to +400°C and operating pressure up to 30 bar.
Series with screwed plate package
Plates out of acid-resistant, high-grade stainless steel, hastelloy oder titanium. One-piece pressed plates with a size from 0,03 m² up to 3,25 m². The plates with “herring-bone-pattern”, for turbulent flow and high pressure strength. A set of tightening bolts press the entire plate package together between the fixed frame plate and the movable pressure plate. Gaskets are made of NBR, EPDM or Viton. They can be made as glued gaskets or removable gaskets (clip- or stud-type). Using removable gaskets makes replacement less expensive. Gaskets are doubled around the channel openings so that a defective seal in indicated as a leak.
Safety heat exchanger with double plate
Safety heat exchangers are used where operational risk is high or environment could be endangered. The safety double-plate system consists of two single plates which are fitted together and welded to each other at the channel opening. Both media employed in the heat exchanging process are separated from each other by a double wall in each channel. The media cannot mix if leakage occurs in one wall. If a defect occurs, the medium flows out through the pressure less safety area between the double plates.
