DZ engine: ABC’s four-stroke line engine earned its good reputation thanks to its reliability and durability. The ease to install made this engine to one of the most wanted ones for inland vessels, tug boats and various power applications. Repairing or renewing defective or damaged components, adjusting settings and controls to maintain the required or specified performance was never as easy as with this engine.
(V)DZ engine: Our medium speed V-engine based on the DZ family is offering a perfect balance between performance and required investment. This makes the engine most suitable for tugs, inland vessels as well as for locomotive or power-plants. All these engines are able to run on HFO as well, which makes them very suitable for marine applications.
DL36 engine: The new DL36 range will expand the ABC market to larger vessels such as ferries, coasters, offshore vessels, military ships, dredging applications and large tugboats. With the 8DL36 (5200 kW) and the soon to follow V-versions (up to 10.400 kW) ABC will be able to supply all major shipyards with solutions for any type or size vessel. The DL36 range will also allow ABC to be competitive in the 20-80 MW power plant range.
DX engine: Reliability and robustness are the key words for this engine, a proven concept offering durability. It is this four stoke medium speed engine which made ABC to one of the most recognized and respected manufacturers of diesel engines in Europe. A design which lasts more than 40 years is still available and in operation all over the world proof against the most aggressive atmospheric regimes.

- DX(S)(C) engine: 138 up to 883 kW (600 – 750 rpm)
- DZC engine: 1032 up to 2000 kW (720 – 1000 rpm)
- (V)DZC engine: 2064 up to 4000 kW (720 – 1000 rpm)
- DL36 engine: 3120 up to 5200 kW (600 – 750 rpm)
ABC ENGINES COMPLY TO ALL ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
All the engines in our portfolio are in accordance with the latest emission legislations. Depending on the application, this is IMO TIER-2 (seagoing vessels, tugboats, ferries, …), CCNR-2 (inland vessels) or EU3A for locomotives. All these requirements are satisfied without electronics on the engines and without an exhaust after treatment system resulting in values far better than those of our competitors.
As emissions will be more and more stringent, ABC tends to be already ahead of future emissions restrictions. This is done by continuous improvement in-house using engines especially build for this testing purpose. As a result, the following limit for locomotive applications will be achieved shortly and even TIER-3 – which becomes active in 2016 – has already been obtained with a prototype test set-up. Further internal projects will give our clients the choice between different emission reduction techniques to obtain the desired rule.
